I hope you all managed to detox using the Chinese Tiao He Cleanse as suggested in my last Newsletter. If you bought it and it’s still in the cupboard – get it out of the cupboard and take it, as it’s not doing the cupboard any good! I occasionally discover that people have not taken the products recommended for their health problem because maybe they’ve forgotten what to take or when. Nature’s Sunshine Products work really well. Try not to be tempted to buy a lower quality product from the High St shops, as they just don’t work. I recently attended a workshop run by the well-known nutritionist, Patrick Holford. He appeared on Trevor McDonald’s programme two weeks ago talking about the dangers of eating fast food. Trevor McDonald was so impressed that he went out to buy some vitamins and came back with Sanatogen’s Multi vitamins and minerals. Patrick Holford immediately told him to throw them away as they wouldn’t be of any use to him, due to the poor quality and low content of vitamins and minerals. Last week in THE INDEPENDENT newspaper there was a front-page article saying that the dangers of HRT have been likened to those caused by the thalidomide drug 40years ago. Professor Bruno Muller-Oerlinghausen, chairman of the German Commission on the Safety of Medicines, described HRT as a “national and international tragedy” after evidence emerged that it had caused thousands of deaths. He added, “more women have probably died from the hormone therapy than damaged children were born in the wake of the thalidomide scandal”.

A series of studies over the past two years has shown that HRT doubles the risk of breast cancer and increases the risk of blood clots, strokes and heart attacks. Results of the largest study, published in The Lancet in August, calculated that HRT had caused 20,000 cases of breast cancer over the past decade in Britain.

An estimated 43% of women aged 50-70 in Germany took HRT before the latest scare but prescriptions have fallen sharply since, according to a report in the British Medical Journal.

Most women take HRT to feel better and to relieve symptoms such as hot flushes and mood swings. PAW PAW: NATURE’S ANSWER TO FIGHTING CANCER

The following information is taken from a report written by Jerry McLaughlin, PhD, a professor of Pharmacognosy at the Purdue University. He has extensively studied cancer and the related treatments and for 20 years he obtained and screened more than 3500 species of plants during a study supported by the National Cancer Institute. During this time he came across the north American paw paw tree and began to focus his research on the unique qualities of this plant and the effect it has in stopping the progression of cancer.

During his research Dr McLaughlin found that the twigs of the tree contained the most potent, active substances. Dr McLaughlin tracked more than 100 cancer patients who used Paw Paw in a one-year period. These patients had tumours representing many different kinds of cancer. Two of the most promising results noted were significant reductions in tumour sizes and a significant reduction in tumour antigen levels. Other benefits were no side effects except two cases of nausea and vomiting and one case of itching. Many patients reported “increased energy” as a result of using Paw Paw.
