I’ve only just recently returned from my holiday in a yoga centre in Crete called Yoga Plus, which is why this month’s newsletter is slightly late. I had the most amazing time practising Astanga Vinyasa Yoga as well as Tai Chi and Pilates.  My body has reluctantly returned home but my mind is still very much in Crete.  The protein drink, SynerProtein, really helped to maintain my energy levels and stamina while practising this very powerful form of yoga. Hi to everyone I met there and maybe I’ll see you there again next year!

The workshops that recently took place in the Hilton Hotel, Bromsgrove, were excellent.

Jeff Tuttle, the guest speaker from the States, gave a very interesting talk on why supplementation is essential and the reasons why Nature’s Sunshine stands apart from the rest as far as quality is concerned. Everyone went to his or her selected workshops for the rest of the afternoon. The one on the Top 15 Products was excellent and we were given fact sheets on each one (if you’d like a copy then give me a call). The Aromatherapy Workshop was very successful and I liked the one specifically for therapists where various therapists spoke about how they have incorporated the Lifestyle Analysis into their businesses and how their clients’ health has improved with NSP products. The afternoon was such a success that they plan to hold more workshops next year.

The Big Breakfast

I’m always going on about how good the protein drink, SynerProtein, is for you. And I thought it was brilliant when Clinton demonstrated at the workshops how to make the ultimate ‘Health Cocktail’. Dr Alvin Segelman, the world-renowned pharmacognocist who recently gave a health workshop for NSP, is convinced that this is the healthiest breakfast anyone could have! So they called it ‘The Big Breakfast’. And this is how you make it:

Pour 250mls of apple juice (or water) into a blender and add the following ingredients:

  • 1 scoop of SynerProtein

  • 1 tablespoon of LoClo

  • 1 tablespoon of Morinda Juice (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon of Colloidal Minerals (optional)

  • 1 small banana

  • 2-3 ice cubes

Mix together and drink immediately. Taking all the ingredients into consideration, this mega breakfast drink would only cost you £1.50 per day. A small price to pay for improving your health and your energy levels!

Another tip is to slice a slightly over ripe banana and put the slices in a bag and into the freezer. These can then be used as ice cubes whenever you need them to add to your drink. Just pop them into your blender and it gives the drink a slight banana flavour while also making it really cold. Try it and see.

 

Botanical Benefits

Nature’s Sunshine recently launched their new improved range of skincare products and we were lucky enough to see them all at the workshops. And they really have improved. Not only do they look classier in their packaging, the contents are softer and smoother as they glide over the skin. Key System Products

I have found that one of the more common systems that keep coming up as fair to poor on Lifestyle Analysis Forms is the Glandular System. So now I’m going to cover this system and its Key Product Master Gland.

The Glandular System                                              An easy way to understand how the glandular system works is to compare it to a thermostat in a central heating system, instructing it to switch off to prevent the room from becoming too hot and switching on again to make the temperature rise. In humans, hormones control conditions in the body so that a steady state is maintained.

The glandular system consists of the pituitary gland, thyroid gland, parathyroid gland, thymus gland, sex glands (ovaries and testes), pancreas, hypothalamus and adrenal glands. Glands produce and excrete chemical substances known as hormones (from the Greek word meaning ‘to stir up’), and these hormones control various organs and tissues so that all parts of the body work together smoothly and efficiently. Hormones regulate basic drives and emotions, promote growth and sexual identity, control body temperature, assist in the repair of broken tissue, and help generate energy. The amount of hormones released depends on the body’s needs. Stress can interfere with the glands and may cause an over-production of some hormones.

Master Gland – a support for the glandular system.         Master Gland is designed to nourish the entire glandular system and promote healthy functioning. It contains essential vitamins and minerals, combined with specific herbs, which are rich in easily absorbed trace minerals, to supply the glands with nutrients essential for optimum health. Taken with another NSP product, C-X, they are effective in controlling menopausal symptoms of hot flushes, night sweats and mood swings. Being an asthma sufferer and wanting to try the natural approach I decided to call Peter Klein, NSP’s herbalist, for free advice. He was really nice to speak to and he suggested I try VS-C and ALJ.
