IT’S
TIME TO SPRING CLEAN – INSIDE AND OUT! I love this time of year – the start of British Summer Time – when the evenings get longer, you can spend more time in the garden, the leaves on the trees begin to burst into leaf as the weather gets warmer and sunnier, and you start thinking about summer holidays. But before you pop off to the nearest Travel Agents, take a moment to think about what you should be doing first as Spring approaches…what about the spring cleaning? Do you normally clean the house from top to bottom, getting into those hidden corners that have never before been discovered, or that top shelf that’s always too high to reach? But what about our neglected bodies? Don’t they need a spring clean? Haven’t we been breathing in toxins, not eating as well as we should be and unknowingly soaking in poisons from our make-up and skincare products? Now is the perfect time to spring clean our bodies inside and out so that we feel and look better. If you’d like to know how to spring clean your body then read on, or come along to the Peter Klein Herb Specialist Day on Saturday 24 April at Addington Palace. (See Dates For Your Diary for details).

PH BALANCING THE SIMPLE ANSWER TO GOOD HEALTH The secret to achieving good health through diet was explained to me recently in a very simple way – and I’m now going to try to explain it to you. Consider these two statements: ·
Disease only thrives in acid cells ·
Disease will not spread in an alkaline body The conclusion therefore is to try to keep our bodies
in an alkaline state so that we remain free of disease. But how can we
achieve this? The food that we eat can produce acid or alkaline
conditions in the body, and the type of food we eat has a direct result on
how acid or alkaline our bodies become. Bearing in mind the two statements
above, you will want to know which acid foods you should be avoiding and
which alkaline foods you should be eating more of. Basically, we should be eating 80% alkaline foods
and 20% acid foods. The truth unfortunately is the opposite, hence the reason
for so much illness and disease. The foods we should cut down on are: ·
Meat and shellfish ·
Deep fried foods ·
Wheat and dairy ·
Ready made meals ·
Alcohol and fizzy drinks ·
Coffee and tea ·
Sugar, sweets, biscuits and chocolate And the foods we should be increasing in our
diets are: ·
Fresh fish (streamed or grilled) ·
Vegetables (eat more vegetables than fruit to
alkalinise the body-especially green vegetables) ·
Fruits ·
Linseeds and pumpkin seeds ·
Rice and oats (porridge) ·
Pulses and beans ·
Herbal and fruit teas, 2 pints of water every day You may find it difficult to follow a strict
low-acid diet, so to help your body become more alkaline there are a few
products available from Nature’s Sunshine: ·
Proactazyme or Food Enzymes for proper digestion and without enzymes you
cannot maintain a balanced pH. ·
SKL Formula containing calcium and magnesium as an acidic body takes minerals from
the bones. ·
Colloidal Minerals for essential trace minerals. ·
Liquid Chlorophyll – an excellent cleanser and provides minerals from green alfalfa
plants. ·
Ultimate Green Zone – a powerhouse of greens to alkalinise the body. (On USA list but now in
stock in the UK - just ring and ask for Ultimate Greenzone) If you add Colloidal Minerals and Ultimate
Greenzone to your SynerProtein and TNT for breakfast or
lunch – you get a tasty drink bursting with vegetable protein, antioxidants,
vitamins, minerals and lots of ‘greens’ and ‘algae’ – free from dairy and
wheat and an excellent meal replacement. |
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Very
often I am asked these questions: ·
What can I take for hay fever? ·
How can I control high blood pressure? ·
How can I prevent catching colds? HAY
FEVER To
answer the first one I’d like to give one of my friends as an example. A
couple of weeks ago her eyes became puffy, her face was swollen – she was
suffering with hay fever. I suggested she try Histablock, and the
symptoms soon disappeared. This is the ideal antihistamine product to take
for hay fever and is also useful for sun allergies. (Available on USA list
but now in stock in the UK because of its popularity - just ring and ask for Histablock) HIGH
BLOOD PRESSURE To help
lower high blood pressure I would suggest taking a combination of Mega
Chel and Capsicum & Garlic with Parsley. Mega Chel is an excellent
daily multi-vitamin and mineral supplement and is also the main product for
the Circulatory System. It contains nutrients that clean the arteries and so
helps lower blood pressure. Capsicum & Garlic with Parsley is a
supplement containing three very effective components to help you obtain a
healthy heart and circulation of the blood. To
reduce high blood pressure, try to cut salt out of your food. If you reduce
salt slowly, you’ll soon get used to the different flavour of food and you
won’t miss the salt. Try and drink 8 glasses of water every day. COLDS
AND SORE THROATS To
prevent colds Elderberry Defence is very effective together with a
good quality multi-vitamin and mineral supplement like Mega Chel or Super
Supplemental. If you already have a cold then try the combination liquid extract Echinacea/Goldenseal together with Vitamin C
Chewable to reduce your symptoms and the duration of your cold. To
quickly ease sore throats gargle with Colloidal Silver in water and
take Zinc Lozenges immediately. Dates For Your Diary Saturday 24 April 2004 10 00– 16.00. Addington Palace, Gravel Hill, Croydon Peter
