Silver ShieldIn the April edition of Health News I included information about Silver Shield. Over the past month I have used it on several occasions, which has prompted me to tell you more about its effectiveness and how and when to use it. Previously known as Colloidal Silver, it now has the new name of Silver Shield. It represents the latest technology in metallic silver nanoparticle solutions and is now a patented formula. Human studies have been conducted using Silver Shield both internally and externally, as an alternative to traditional antibiotics. The studies were conducted in three hospitals in Ghana involving a variety of human ailments including pain and diarrhoea, bronchitis, conjunctivitis, external skin infections, ear infections, gingivitis, malaria, throat infections, rhinitis, sinusitis, tonsillitis, urinary tract infections and vaginal yeast (candida) infections. All patients experienced a full recovery and/or complete resolution of symptoms within one to eight days using only Silver Shield. Silver shield was also tested against MRSA. Beginning with a concentrate of 6 million MRSA bacteria, Silver Shield killed 91% of the bacteria in 10 minutes. After one hour, 99.5% of the MRSA bacteria had been killed and all of the bacteria destroyed in one day. How and when to use Silver ShieldI have recently used Silver Shield very effectively on three of my four cats. One of my cats, Tiggy, came limping into the house with a damaged leg which had been badly punctured by another cat in one of their fights over females. His leg became badly infected so the vet gave me some antibiotics. He refused to eat any of the food into which I had put the crushed antibiotic. His leg got much worse and then I remembered Silver Shield. I put half a teaspoon in a small dish of milk and I also bathed the wound with Silver Shield. As it is odourless and tasteless he drank the milk easily. Within a coupe of days the wound started to heal. I continued to give him the Silver Shield for another week just to make sure the infection had completely cleared up. Another of my cats, Filos, came into the house sneezing and looking very sorry for himself. I gave him half a teaspoon of Silver Shield in milk and very soon he was much better. I have since given Filos Silver Shield for the many cuts he gets on his legs from fighting other cats. I recently went to Lesbos on a week’s yoga holiday and my friends, who have a holiday home just across the road, very kindly fed the cats. One of my cats, Pippa, had not eaten for the last three days of my holiday and had been missing for two days. I arrived home on Thursday evening and she finally appeared on Friday evening looking very thin and lethargic. She refused to eat or drink anything and appeared to be dehydrated which is very serious in the hot climate of Crete. This continued all through Saturday and all she wanted to do was sit on my lap and sleep. On Sunday she was sick in the morning and I became very concerned and a friend suggested she might have been poisoned. I contacted the vet who reassured me it was not poison but that she probably had a virus and that I should bring her into the surgery the following morning. Pippa continued to get worse throughout Sunday and then I decided to try Silver Shield in some milk. She had previously refused to drink anything but on this occasion she drank it all. Within a few hours she ate some dry cat food and then drank some water. She seemed a bit brighter. I gave her more Silver Shield Sunday evening and on Monday morning she ate a bowl of food. I did not take her to the vets, as she seemed so much better. By Monday evening she was back to normal. |

More Uses For Silver Shield The stories overleaf demonstrate the effectiveness of Silver Shield, as the cats didn’t know they were taking it and it was easy to administer because there is no smell or taste. Silver Shield can be given to children to fight viruses and bacteria infections. Half a teaspoon in water or juice is the best way and the children won’t know they are taking it. Last year my sister came to stay with her two daughters, Emily and Alice. As always on holiday it is common to get a stomach upset. Alice came to me one morning complaining of pains in her stomach. Silver Shield is very effective against food poisoning or any general stomach upset. I gave Alice some Silver Shield in a glass of water and within half an hour she was feeling better. I always keep a bottle of Silver Shield in the fridge and at the first sign of a sore throat, I gargle with Silver Shield mixed in water. The sore throat very quickly disappears. Silver Shield can be used on burns or any skin infection and for cleaning wounds. I recently received the June edition of WDDTY (What Doctor’s Don’t Tell You). A letter had been received from one of their readers about Colloidal Silver. “I have been reading about your natural remedies for eczema on your website. I recently went to my local natural-foods store and found a product called Ultra Colloidal Silver Spray. It was for my son’s sore throat but one morning I thought I’d spray it on the big patch of eczema on my wrist. By the end of the day, I noticed the redness was gone and the dry skin was just about unnoticeable. I’ve been using it once a day for the past six days now and it is almost gone! – Vicki, Burbank, WA, USA One of my friends had also used it successfully on dermatitis. It is one of those products that I consider to be essential, as you never know when you’ll need it. It has a very long shelf life and once opened should be kept in the fridge. Silver Shield is suitable for vegetarians. It comes in a glass bottle and contains 118ml of colloidal silver. Stock no 4074. **************************************************** To order any of these products– call Nature’s Sunshine Products on 08458 40 50 60 or the main telephone line on 01952 671600. |
Deadly fats: why are we still eating them? Hydrogenated vegetable oil has been banned in two European countries but not ours. It sounds harmless enough, but it is one of the most dangerous products ever to be included in the food we eat. Food scares are nothing new, but hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO) elevates health risk to a whole new level. Recent scientific research suggests that it may be responsible for an unknown, but certainly very large, number of heart attacks. Clinical researchers have discovered that ingesting just two grams a day of HVO – the amount contained in just one doughnut fried in this type of fat – increases an individual's risk of heart disease by 23 per cent. This makes HVO much more dangerous to health than the saturated fats such as butter. It distorts cholesterol levels, encourages obesity, causes inflammatory conditions, and can even be a cause of infertility. Brands that include it in their manufacture include Cadbury Heroes, some Nestlé and Mars confectionery, Batchelors Cup a Soups and even Haliborange Omega-3 Fish Oil capsules for children. In fact, it is found in most chocolate bars except Green and Blacks’ Organic chocolate and I have not yet found a frozen dessert that does not contain hydrogenated fat. HVO, or trans-fat, as it is sometimes called, is also widely used in bakery products, and by restaurants and takeaways, where it usually does not have to be labelled and declared as being present. It continues to be used in the food industry because of the low cost and convenience. Given the weight of scientific evidence that has now built up against trans-fats, there is an overwhelming case for the Government to ban their use. This has already happened in Denmark, where HVO was removed from processed food five years ago, resulting in the rate of heart disease among Danes dropping by 40 per cent. Switzerland is the only other European country to follow suit and introduced a ban this April. Britain has no plans to take action. HVO actually changes the structure of the cells in the body, raising bad cholesterol and lowering good cholesterol. Trans fats are hugely useful to the food industry as they have a shelf-life of years, don't add unwanted flavour, don't need to be chilled, and are very cheap. A chip shop can deep fry in HVO for a month, for example, where other vegetable oil must be changed every few days. Given that there is conclusive evidence of the damage HVO does, what are we waiting for? Maggie Stanfield, whose recently published book, ‘Trans-Fat: The Time Bomb in Your Food’ tells the full story of its acceptance by the food industry.
